William S. “Steve” Witt was born on September 27, 1948, in Boston, Massachusetts, to Nelson and Edith Witt. He lived in Canton, MA, for many years before making Myrtle Beach, SC, his home, where he enjoyed the sunshine, the ocean, and time with friends and family.
Steve was the kind of person who loved being around people—especially his family. He is survived by his wife, Arlene, his children Stacey (Chris), Billy (Jean), and Hilary (Wendy), and his grandchildren Brigid, Libby, Reese, Peyton, Madison, Tristan, and Ryann, who brought him endless pride and joy.
He is also survived by his brother Robert (Carol), his sister Gertrudei Bonner, and many wonderful in-laws, nieces, and nephews who were lucky to be part of his life.
Steve loved sports—golf, baseball, hockey—but even more, he loved whatever his kids and grandkids were into. Whether it was watching a game, spending time with friends, or just being together, Steve was happiest when he was surrounded by people he cared about. He had a great sense of humor, a big heart, and a way of making everyone feel welcome.
Relatives and friends invited to attend a Funeral Service at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Saturday March 21st at 11:00 am.
