William Hohenstein Obituary

William H. Hohenstein, age 80 of Norwood, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on December 30, 2025. Born on March 23, 1945, in Boston, Massachusetts, Bill’s life was a testament to his dedication, warmth, and the joy he brought to all who knew him.

Raised in Roslindale, Bill was a proud alumnus of Boston Latin School, whose rigorous academic environment laid the foundation for his future achievements. He furthered his education at Northeastern University, where he honed his analytical mind, and later at Babson College, where he earned his MBA and solidified his passion for business.

Bill’s professional path as a Strategy Consultant in the Venture Capital Industry was marked by his innovative thinking and leadership. He played a pivotal role in the growth and success of various U.S. and International companies, guiding them with his strategic acumen and forward-thinking vision. His colleagues respected him for his integrity and his ability to navigate complex business landscapes with ease.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Bill was an individual of diverse interests and talents. He was an avid reader, golfer, and former member of The Walpole Country Club. He also loved skiing with family, playing tennis and boating. His boat was a familiar sight at Kingman Marina in Pocasset. Moreover, his skills as a talented pianist were not just a personal delight but and enjoyment for all who had the pleasure of listening to him.

Bill’s legacy is carried on by his beloved partner of 40 years, Karyl Wile of Norwood. His spirit lives on in his sons, William G. Hohenstein of Canton and Gregory D. Hohenstein of Easton. He will forever be missed by his grandchildren, Isabel and William Hohenstein of Canton, who were the light of his life.

Bill will be deeply missed, but his legacy of humor, love and resilience in dealing with devastating illness will not be forgotten.

Bill is also survived by his brother, Carl Hohenstein (Marion) of New Hampshire and many nieces and nephews.
