Wenqin Tu Obituary

Wenqin Tu, a devoted mother, grandmother, and retired physician, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2026, in Sharon, Massachusetts, at the age of 97. Born in Shanghai, China, on November 15, 1928, her long and meaningful life was defined by her faith in God, love for her family, and the care of others.

Wenqin grew up in China, where she attended an American missionary-funded Christian school—an early educational experience that deeply rooted her Christian faith. She pursued a career in medicine, working for many years as a dedicated internist. She approached her profession with an exceptional sense of responsibility, skill, and compassion.

At the age of 83, Wenqin demonstrated her characteristic resilience and adaptability by immigrating to the United States. Settling in Sharon, Massachusetts, she embraced this new chapter with dignity, grace, and a calm spirit. She found a welcoming community and spiritual fellowship at the Chinese Church of Metro South Boston, and made friends in her neighborhood and at the Foremost at Sharon.

She was a loving mother to Xuefeng Wang and her husband, Rick Yang, of Sharon, and a warm and comforting grandmother to Jason Yang. And she was a cherishing and caring friend to people around her.

Wenqin found joy in life's simple pleasures. She was an avid reader of the Bible, played the piano, and loved singing hymns. She expressed her affection by knitting thoughtful gifts for loved ones and friends. She also stayed vibrant and active by playing ping pong and taking daily walks.

Wenqin leaves behind a legacy of intelligence, perseverance, and quiet grace. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Relatives and friends are warmly invited to attend her memorial service on Saturday, June 27th, from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Chinese Church of Metro South Boston, 383 Old Post Road Sharon, MA. Her wake and burial will be held privately.
