Warner Lund Obituary

Warner E. Lund, Jr. of Canton passed away on July 26, 2025, at the VA Hospital in West Roxbury, Massachusetts. Born in Gloucester, and raised in Beverly, MA. Warner was a graduate of Beverly High School, and played football for Beverly High, and even years later enjoyed attending the Beverly-Salem game on Thanksgiving when possible. He attended Tufts University after high school and then the University of Pennsylvania Dental School where he met his wife Barbara, and they married in 1965.

Warner had entered the Navy after college via the ROTC program and served during the Vietnam Era though remained in the Dental Reserves for many years and his rank at the time of his retirement was Captain. Professionally, Warner was the Chief of Dentistry within the Veteran’s Administration Health System, most recently in Manchester New Hampshire, where he was prior to retirement. He also spent many years at Jamaica Plain as well. He enjoyed teaching and was an educator at Harvard University Dental School.

Warner settled in Canton, MA, with his wife and daughter in 1977, a community he would call home for many years. Warner also cherished the time spent at his house in Bedford, NH, which became a haven during his tenure at the end of his career at the Manchester, NH Veteran’s Administration. Most important to Warner though, was his family and was very devoted to his daughter Julie and wife Barbara.

Warner's passion for the New York Giants was well-known among his friends and family. He was a loyal fan with season tickets to the Meadowlands for many years, and enjoyed attending training camp and being part of the Giants fan club.

Warner is loved dearly by his family, and is survived by his wife, Barbara A. Lund (Vrabel), and daughter Julie A. Lund of Canton. Warner is also survived by his brother Myles J. Lund of Palm Coast Florida and Wife Cornelia, and his sister Elizabeth A. Lund also of Palm Coast, FL. as well as cousins, Nieces, Nephews, Grand Nieces/Nephews. Warner is predeceased by his parents Warner E. Lund, Sr. and Margaret M. Lund (McEachern).

Funeral Mass at St. Oscar Romero Church, Canton Saturday morning August 2nd at 11:00 am. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Saturday morning prior to the Mass from 9:30 to 10:30. Burial will follow the Mass at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.
