Virginia Palumbo Obituary

Virginia M. Palumbo (née Cortesi), affectionately known as Ginny, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2023, at Baypointe Rehabilitation Center in Brockton. Ginny's life was marked by her joyous spirit, loving nature, and the kind-hearted laughter she shared generously with everyone she met. Born in Norwood, she was raised in Canton and was a proud graduate of Canton High School. Her formative years in the close-knit community shaped her into a person of compassion and resilience. Ginny's life was a testament to the power of love, as seen through her enduring devotion to her late husband, John A. Palumbo. Together, they built a life rich in love and laughter, a legacy carried on by their children, John Palumbo of Burlington and Joanne Michenzie of Canton. Ginny's role as a mother was only surpassed by the joy she found in being a grandmother and great-grandmother. Her grandchildren, John Palumbo of NH, Davide Lamore of Burlington, and Jessica Kelly and her husband Jared of Foxboro, were the recipients of her boundless love and infectious humor. She also cherished her time with her great-grandchildren, Logan, Brady, and Crew, whose lives are imbued with the love and wisdom she imparted. Her sister, Irene Supino of Canton, will remember Ginny not only as a sibling but as a lifelong friend whose laughter and kindness could light up any room they shared. Ginny's presence in the lives of her family members was a source of constant joy and comfort, and her memory will continue to be a guiding light for them. Ginny's talents extended far beyond her role as the matriarch of her family. She was a gifted singer, gracing the stages of several upscale nightclubs in New York. Her voice was not only a source of entertainment but also an expression of her vibrant spirit and passion for life. Ginny's sense of humor was equally renowned, endearing her to all who had the pleasure of encountering her wit and charm. Those who knew Ginny would describe her as funny, loving, and kind. She brought laughter to the mundane, love to the forgotten, and kindness to every moment. Her impact on the world was as much about the joy she spread as it was about the love she nurtured in her family and friends. Ginny's presence was a gift to all who knew her, and her absence will be deeply felt. As we bid farewell to Virginia M. Palumbo, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a heart generously shared. Ginny's legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her and to be loved by her. Her laughter, her songs, and her unwavering kindness will echo in the hearts of her family and friends forever. Ginny's life was a melody of love and laughter, a song that will resonate for generations to come. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with her beloved John, and they imagine them together, dancing to the music of the stars. Virginia M. Palumbo's life was a true embodiment of joy and compassion, and her story will be told with smiles and fond memories by all who cherished her. Rest in peace, dear Ginny, knowing that your song will always be sung. Funeral Mass at St. Oscar Romero Church, Canton Thursday morning at 10:00. Burial to follow at Canton Corner Cemetery.
