Vilma Rita Berarducci passed away peacefully on April 27, 2024, at Mass General Hospital in Boston after a lengthy battle with colon cancer.
Born on June 17, 1938, in Boston, MA, Vilma was the beloved daughter of the late Pasquale Berarducci and Assunta Pelini Berarducci and the devoted sister of the late Ermada Berarducci. Her light shone brightly for 85 years, leaving a legacy of warmth and wisdom that will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
Vilma's life began in the vibrant North End of Boston and later Dorchester, where she was raised and educated. Her passion for learning and creativity led her to the Massachusetts College of Art, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree. Vilma's quest for knowledge did not stop there; she pursued further education at Suffolk University, where she earned her MBA, and CatholicUniversity in Washington D.C., where she received her Master's in Fine Arts.
When she completed her education, she taught school in the D.C. area and then changed careers, starting a successful social club for up-and-coming professionals in Houston TX.
After returning to Boston, she successfully managed and maintained the family’s real estate businesses, which included tenants such as Dunkin Donuts and Domino’s Pizza.
Vilma spent the last three years tirelessly establishing a fellowship at Beth Israel Hospital in her sister Ermada’s name and memory for research and hopefully a cure for osteoporosis.
We say goodbye to Vilma, a remarkable woman of many accomplishments. May she rest in peace, knowing that her memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those she touched, especially her cousins and extended family.
