Veronica Thompson Obituary

Veronica S. Thompson (Jeffries), passed away peacefully at her home in Fitchburg, MA, on September 25, 2024. Born in St. Joseph, Missouri, Veronica's life journey was marked by an unwavering devotion to her family and a gentle spirit that touched the hearts of all who knew her.

Veronica was the beloved wife of the late Gerald Wilkinson and a cherished mother to her children, Glyn Thompson of Rhode Island, Donna Thompson Scharaffa and her husband Mark of Wakefield, and Aurie Thompson of Fitchburg. Her role as a grandmother to Ahlex, Jahzmyn, Makayla, and Giuliana was one she embraced with immense joy and pride. The daughter of Linda K. Friel of Canton and the late Don P. Jeffries, Veronica also held a special place in her heart for her late stepfather John J. Friel. Though her sister Donna K. Eickmeier predeceased her, the memories they shared continue to be a source of comfort to the family.

After completing high school, Veronica's passion for helping others led her to acquire a Certificate in Reflexology. This choice of profession spoke volumes about her desire to bring relief and comfort to those around her. Veronica spent many years as a Manicurist and Reflexologist, a career that reflected her nurturing personality. She dedicated her skills to serving the elderly community at Senior Centers across Leominster, Lunenburg, Canton, and Townsend, where her gentle touch and warm presence were greatly appreciated.

Beyond her professional life, Veronica had a creative soul with a love for arts and crafts. Her artistic talents were not only a personal source of fulfillment but also a means of bonding with her loved family members. The time she spent with her children and grandchildren was precious, filled with laughter, creativity, and love. These moments became the threads that wove the rich tapestry of her family's cherished memories.

Veronica's kindheartedness extended beyond her family and friends. She was known for her generous spirit and the ability to see the best in people. Her warmth and compassion were infectious, and her legacy of love will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have felt her influence.

As we remember Veronica S. Thompson, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and grace. She was a woman who taught us the value of caring for one another, the joy of creativity, and the importance of family. While her physical presence will be deeply missed, her spirit remains a guiding light that will continue to illuminate the lives of those she loved.

Veronica's life story cannot be captured in mere words; her actions, her kindness, and her love were her truest testament. We take solace in knowing that her journey was a testament to the beauty that can be found in a life dedicated to the service and support of others. Her memory will be treasured, her lessons cherished, and her legacy honored by all who knew her. Veronica S. Thompson will forever be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, and friend.
