Timothy Beglane Obituary

Timothy J. Beglane, age 69, of Stoughton, affectionately known as Tim to his friends and Timmy to his family, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family and friends on May 16, 2025, after a courageous 12-year battle with cancer.

Born on July 18, 1955, in Springfield, Massachusetts, Tim was the cherished son of George and Margaret Beglane (Dingman). He lived a life marked by kindness, patience, and an unwavering love for his family and friends.

A devoted husband, Tim is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Cindy (Lane) Beglane, whose love and companionship were the foundation of his life. He was a proud and supportive father to Brian M. Beglane and his wife Michelle (Beaudette) of West Hartford, Connecticut, and Christopher G. Beglane of Stoughton, Massachusetts. Nothing brought him more joy than being “Grandpa” to his granddaughters, Samantha and Kristen Beglane, who filled his days with laughter, pride, and affection.

Tim was the kind of person who quietly made the world better in a thousand little ways. After earning his engineering degree from Wentworth Institute in Boston and working as a structural engineer in Montgomery, AL, Framingham, and Canton, MA, Tim later devoted himself to more personal forms of care working as a PCA for Pranav Raman, forming a bond that reflected his deep compassion and gentle spirit.

Always ready to lend a hand, Tim was the first call when someone needed help moving—known as the best at loading a truck with the precision of a true engineer. At home, he found joy working side-by-side in the yard with his son, Chris, taking immense pride in its beauty and the time spent together. He loved cheering Chris on in town sports and especially enjoyed watching him play first base at Norfolk Aggie High School, a position Tim himself had once excelled at.

Tim was happiest with the simple pleasures: grilling up food for family and friends, floating peacefully in his backyard pool, and relaxing under the gazebo with neighbors, a cold beer in hand and good company all around. He especially treasured spending summers in Maine, vacationing with his son Brian and the entire Beglane clan. Tim also shared 14 wonderful years with his loyal companion, his dog Annie, who brought him comfort and unconditional love- he missed her deeply and often wished she could still be on his lap in his final months. Tim’s calm demeanor and infinite patience made him a magnet to children, who lovingly nicknamed him the “Tim Toy” a reflection of the joy and comfort he brought to everyone, young and old.

Tim’s close-knit family was a source of immense pride. He is survived by his siblings: Barbara Tully and her late husband Dennis of Springfield, Debbie Robbins of Westfield, Beth Cox and her late husband, Bill of Ludlow, Peggy Merrill and the late Norman Merrill of Springfield, George Beglane and his wife Emilie of North Carolina, Mark Beglane and his wife Lynn of East Longmeadow, and John Beglane and his wife Debbie of Longmeadow. He was predeceased by his siblings Patty Pearson and Frank Beglane. He is also lovingly remembered by his brother-in-law Dale Pearson. Tim leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and extended family who adored him.

We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to his entire care teams at Dana-Farber and Good Shepherd Community Care, with special thanks to Jennifer Mosgrove and Jean Paul Pierre, whose dedication and compassion were a great comfort to Tim and his family.

Tim will be remembered for the quiet strength he carried, the love he gave so freely, and the legacy of kindness and patience that lives on in all who knew him.
