Ronald Davidson Obituary

Ronald Knott Davidson, a cherished father, grandfather, brother, respected colleague, and passionate enthusiast of motorcycles and automobiles, passed away on the 26th of May, 2024, at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston. Born in Quincy, Massachusetts, he was the son of Alfred Davidson and Elizabeth Knott. Ronald's life was a testament to his resilience, dedication, and the joy he found in the simple things.

Raised in the town of Sharon, Ronald was a proud graduate of Sharon High School. His commitment to his country was evident early on as he served with honor in the United States Navy, a period of his life that instilled in him a sense of discipline and camaraderie which he carried throughout his life.

After his military service, Ronald embarked on a career that would see him become a skilled machinist for the Kendall Company in Sharon, where he dedicated many years before his well-earned retirement. His work ethic and precision were well-known, and he was respected by his colleagues for his reliability and expertise. Prior to this, Ronald worked in the printing business in New York, where he honed his attention to detail and developed a strong foundation for his later career.

Family was the cornerstone of Ronald's life. He was preceded into glory by his loving daughter Patricia Amyot. He is a loving father to his children, Michael Davidson of Annandale, VA, and Ronald Davidson of Massachusetts. His guidance, wisdom, and unwavering support shaped their lives and left an indelible mark on their hearts. Ronald's role as a father was one he cherished deeply, and his legacy lives on through his children.  He is the father-in-law to Armand Amyot, husband of Patricia Amyot and Hye Davidson, wife of Michael Davidson. He is the Grandfather/Grandfather-in-law of Armanda Buchanan and her husband Michael Buchanan and Timothy Davidson.  Brother of Alden Davidson and his wife Victoria of E. Bridgewater.  He is the Uncle to Sara Lawson and James Davidson.

Ronald's interests extended far beyond his professional life. He had a lifelong passion for riding motorcycles and working on both cars and motorcycles. His hands were rarely clean, often stained with oil or grease, a true mark of his dedication to his hobbies. Friends and family would often find him in his garage, tools in hand, working on a project with focus and determination. His love for the open road and the thrill of the ride was infectious, and he was always eager to share his knowledge and stories with others.

Those who knew Ronald will remember him for his hearty laugh, his practical jokes and very unique gifts for special occasions. He was a man who appreciated the value of hard work, the thrill of a well-taken corner on a motorcycle ride, and the quiet evenings spent recounting tales of his adventures. Ronald's presence was a source of stability and strength, and his absence will be felt deeply by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

As we bid farewell to Ronald K. Davidson, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and passion. His memory will continue to inspire us to approach life with the same tenacity and zest that he did. Ronald's journey through life was marked by the love he shared, the friendships he made, and the lives he touched. He will be dearly missed, but his spirit will ride on in the hearts of those who loved him.

In honoring Ronald's life, we reflect on the lessons he taught us: to face challenges with courage, to find happiness in our passions, and to cherish the time we have with our loved ones. Ronald's story does not end here; it lives on through the countless memories he created and the enduring impact he had on those around him. Rest in peace, Dad; your legacy will never be forgotten.
