Robert Power Obituary

Robert E. Power, of Canton, formerly of Braintree, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2025, at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Milton. Born on May 17, 1932, in Boston, MA, Bob's life was marked by dedication to his family, his faith, and his country.

Bob was the beloved husband of the late Margaret J. (McCarte) and a devoted father to Robert G. Power and his wife Debbie of Canton. His legacy continued through his grandchildren, Amanda Power and her husband Daniel Braun of Braintree, and John Power and his wife Molly Muldoon Power of Fairfield, CT. He was also a cherished great-grandfather to Charles and Henry Power, and Clark Braun. Although he was predeceased by his siblings Madeline Haines, Margaret O'Donnell, Joseph Power, and the late Rev. James Power, Bob's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

Raised in South Boston, Bob's formative years were spent nurturing his intellect and character. He was a proud graduate of Boston College High School and Boston College, where he laid a strong foundation for his future. His commitment to his nation was evident through his honorable service in the United States Army during the Korean War. Settling in Braintree for many years, he later moved to Canton in 2023, where he continued to be an active and respected member of the Brightview Senior Living community.

Bob's professional life was characterized by loyalty and excellence. He dedicated many years to Boston Edison, retiring as the Division Head for the Survey & Records Department. Following retirement, Bob spent many happy years with his grandchildren, traveling with them to Florida and England and being a regular presence at their dance recitals, baseball, hockey and field hockey games. He was their greatest fan.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Bob was an avid golfer who took great pleasure in playing at the Braintree Municipal Golf Course. In the offseason you could find him bowling with his friends. In his later years, he took great pride in beating his family at Wordle. A proud Veteran, Bob was an active member of the Braintree American Legion, serving on their honor guard. His patriotism and service were hallmarks of his character.

Bob's life was a testament to the values he held dear: family, faith and service. His warm smile, generous spirit, and unwavering love and support of his family will be missed.
