Robert Mason Obituary

Robert W. Mason, age 81, (formerly of Canton, MA) a cherished family man and respected businessman, passed away peacefully at the Katzman Family Center in Chelsea on February 5, 2024. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, his life was a testament to the values of hard work, generosity, and loyalty that he embodied.

Raised in Roxbury, Bob was a proud graduate of Boston Trade High School, where he honed the skills that would define his professional life. His career endeavors spanned self-employment as a printer, owner operator of Window Air Conditioning Specialists of Hyde Park for over 25 years, and owner/president of Bay State School of Technology in Canton, where he led the company for 35 years before retiring. Throughout his career he embodied commitment to his craft and community.

Bob's life was filled with the joy of family and great friends. He was the beloved husband of the late Elaine M. Mason (Hogan) and a devoted father to his children. His legacy continues through Deborah Hallinan and her husband Kevin of Roslindale, Marianne McPherson and her husband David of Frisco, TX, Robert Mason Jr. and his wife Bree of Plano, TX, and William Mason and his late wife Alison of Canton. His brother Ron Mason, along with his wife Arlene of Plymouth, also survives him, as does the memory of his late brother Thomas Mason. Bob was the proud grandfather of 14 grandchildren, Brandon Hallinan and his wife Cloe, Meghan Hallinan, Daniel Meagher, Tyler Hallinan, Alyssa Hallinan, Alexis Mason, Kailee Mason, Hannah Temkin, Abigail Mason, Rachael Temkin, Samantha Mason, Sean Mason, Noah Mason and McKenzie Mason and 2 great grandchildren Callum and Madeline Hallinan.

Beyond his professional accomplishments and family life, Bob was an avid golfer, deeply connected to the community of fellow enthusiasts at the Wampatuck Country Club in Canton and the George Wright Golf Course in Hyde Park. His love for the game was matched only by the joy he took in spending time with his family, reading, and playing cards. These simple pleasures were the cornerstones of a life well-lived, reflecting the loving and generous spirit he was known for.

Bob's warm presence will be profoundly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His life was a beautiful dedication to his loved ones, his work, his friends and his passions. As we bid farewell to Bob, his memory will continue to inspire and guide us, as we remember a man whose life was a portrait of generosity.
