Robert Galeota Obituary

Robert F. Galeota, of Canton, a cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend, left this world to join his beloved family in eternal peace on March 3, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on August 10, 1946, in Boston, Massachusetts, to the late Nicholas and Elsie Galeota, Robert's life was one of dedication, service, and joy. He passed away in Canton, MA, leaving behind a legacy of love and commitment to his community.

Robert grew up in Hyde Park, where he graduated from Hyde Park High School, setting a strong foundation for his lifelong pursuit of knowledge and spiritual growth. His academic journey continued as he attended St. John Vianney Seminary in Barre, Vermont, followed by studies at St. Mary's Seminary in St. Mary, Kentucky. These formative years were instrumental in shaping his character and strengthening his faith.

For over 40 years, Robert was a proud resident of Canton, MA, where he was deeply involved in his local community. His professional life was spent at DSI Services Systems, where he was known for his unwavering work ethic and kind-hearted nature. Beyond his professional endeavors, Robert's true passion lay in his volunteer work and involvement with various associations.

As a devout Catholic, Robert served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. John the Evangelist Church, where he touched the lives of many with his gentle spirit and unwavering faith. His commitment to service extended beyond the church walls, as he also dedicated his time and talents to the Maxx Training Center in Stoughton, helping to empower and uplift those around him.

Though he had no children of his own, Robert's family ties were strong and filled with love. He was the brother of the late Anne Marie MacKay and is survived by his nephew-in-law Kenneth Hastings and his late wife Carolyn of Tyngsboro. Robert also held a special place in the heart of his great-niece, Isabella E. Hastings, whom he adored. His role as a great uncle was one he cherished deeply, and his influence on Isabella's life will continue to be felt for years to come.

Robert's life was a testament to his values of faith, family, and community. Those who knew him will remember his warmth, his generous spirit, and the quiet strength he carried with him. His absence will be profoundly felt, but the memories he created will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with him.

As we bid farewell to Robert F. Galeota, we celebrate a life well-lived, marked by compassion, dedication, and a deep sense of purpose. May he rest in peace, knowing that his legacy of love and service will continue to resonate within the hearts of those he leaves behind.

A visitation and funeral service will be held to honor the life and memory of Robert. The visitation will offer family, friends, and community members a chance to gather in remembrance and share stories of Robert's impact on their lives. The funeral service will be a final tribute to a man who lived his faith and enriched the lives of everyone around him.

In the quiet moments of reflection, let us all find solace in knowing that Robert F. Galeota lived a life that exemplified kindness, generosity, and unwavering commitment to his beliefs and the people he loved.
