Rita Simone Obituary

Rita E. Simone, a beacon of love and dedication, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on October 14, 1939, in Boston, MA, Rita was the cherished daughter of Giuseppe “Luigi” and Elsa Tonetti, and sister to Clara I. Basso. Rita and Clara grew up in Roxbury where Rita met her late husband Bob.

After marrying Robert “Bob” L. Simone, the love of her life, they moved to Canton, MA, a town Rita called home for over six decades.

Rita and Bob, built a life focused on family and the endearing love for each other. Rita was a loving mother to her children, Robert J. Simone and his wife Bernice of Foxboro, and Diana White and her husband Michael of Canton. She was a doting grandmother to Matthew, Gregory, Victoria, and Ava, whose lives were enriched by her endless affection and support.

Professionally, Rita built a real estate brokerage, Rustlewood Realty, in Canton. Her knack for understanding people's needs made her a respected figure in the industry and the community. Colleagues and clients alike admired Rita for her honesty and genuine desire to help families find their perfect homes.

Rita's generosity knew no bounds. In a profound act of love, at the age of 56 Rita donated a kidney to her husband, Bob, a testament to the depth of her caring spirit. This selfless gesture was a shining example of the commitment she had to her husband and family's well-being.

Above all, Rita adored spending time with her grandchildren. Whether it was attending their school events, sharing stories of her own childhood, or simply enjoying a dinner together, these moments were the highlight of her days. Rita's grandchildren treasure the love and joy she imparted on them.

Rita's legacy is one of love, service, and an unwavering dedication to her family. Her memory will be held dear by all who had the good fortune to know her. She leaves behind a family that is grateful for every moment shared and every lesson taught. We celebrate Rita’s life and reunion in heaven with her husband and other family members who received her in love and the Lord’s light.
