Richard Henriksen Obituary

Richard Henriksen, of Canton passed away on July 29, 2025, at PAM Health Hospital in Stoughton. Born in Norwood, MA, Richard's life was a testament to the values of service and camaraderie that he held dear.

Growing up in Canton, Richard's early years were filled with the love and support of his family, laying the foundation for the man he would become. A proud graduate of Canton High School, he carried the lessons learned and friendships forged there throughout his life.

Richard found his calling in serving others through his work with the Canton Fire Department. As a firefighter, he not only battled blazes but also touched the lives of those he protected. His courage and selflessness made him a pillar of the community, and his retirement was marked by the same respect and admiration that defined his career.

Beyond his professional life, Richard was a staple in local organizations. His engagement with the Canton Town Club reflected his love for his hometown, while his time at the Wampatuck Country Club showcased his fondness for camaraderie and the outdoors. Richard's interests and involvements were a reflection of his desire to build and maintain strong community ties.

While he found joy in his associations, Richard's heart belonged to his family. He was the beloved husband of the late Barbara M. “Bobbi” (Sheehan), and he carried her memory with grace and devotion. Though preceded in death by his sister Marie Leary, his bond with his family remained strong through his sister-in-law Helen LoGiudice of Bridgewater, and the affection of his many nieces and nephews, who will fondly remember their uncle's warmth and guidance.

Richard's absence will be deeply felt by those who knew him, yet his legacy of service, family, and community will continue to inspire. As we bid farewell to Richard Henriksen, we celebrate a life lived with honor, a life that will continue to light the way for all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Relatives and friends invited to attend a graveside service at Knollwood Memorial Park Canton Tuesday August 5th at 10 am.
