Ralph J. Colella, a cherished patriarch passed away peacefully at the age of 95 on April 16, 2025, in Framingham, MA. Born on January 14, 1930, in Boston, MA, to Ralph and Francesca (Minutoli) Colella. Predeceased by his brother Frank Colella and sister Lena Colella. His life was characterized by devotion to his family, service to his country, and a commitment to excellence in his professional endeavors.
Ralph earned his bachelor's degree from Northeastern University in Electronics Engineering, demonstrating his keen intellect and unwavering work ethic.
Ralph honorably served his country as a Radio Operator during the Korean War earning two Bronze Stars and rose the rank of Sergeant. As an Army veteran, his experiences in the military instilled in him a sense of duty and resilience that he carried throughout his life.
Ralph found joy and solace in his personal life as well. He was the beloved husband of Jo-An Colella, sharing a remarkable 68 years of marriage filled with love, friendship, and mutual respect. Together, they raised their sons, Christopher and the late Peter Colella, instilling in them the values of integrity and compassion. His son Christopher and daughter-in-law Marie, grandchildren Domenic and Melissa Colella of Norwood, will fondly remember him as a guiding force of wisdom and support.
As we bid farewell to Ralph J. Colella, we celebrate a life well-lived and honor the enduring impact he has left on the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. His legacy will continue to inspire and guide us. Just like the sunrise and sunsets, he gazes upon Lake Winnipesaukee, at his cherished cottage where he spent many days building and renovating every room. Ralph's passing is not an end, but a testament to a journey well-traveled and a life profoundly cherished.
Relatives & friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington St. Canton, MA 02021, on Monday, April 21st from 10-11 a.m. A funeral service will be held at Dockray & Thomas Funeral on Monday, at 11. Burial at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
