Paul J. Marathas passed away peacefully on June 6, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Canton Massachusetts in 1937 to the late James and Agnes Marathas, Paul joined the Air Force in 1954. He was promptly stationed at Manston Air Force Base in Kent, England where he met the love of his life (Kathleen) Frances Couchman at a G.I. dance. Married at 19 years old, Paul and Fran made the big move to Bergstrom AFB in Austin Texas in 1956, the first of many bases and deployments over the course of his military career. Paul spent 20 years in the Air Force retiring in 1974. In his younger years he enjoyed playing golf, bowling and softball. His favorite past times were playing cards with his family, watching westerns and war movies, and listening to his 1950’s records.
