Patricia Malloy Obituary

Patricia Hennessey Malloy, age 89, of Canton, MA has passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on October 28, 2025, in Milton, MA.  Born in Boston on July 29, 1936.  Raised in Canton and a long-time resident of Canton, Stoughton, Nantucket and Westwood.  Patricia was the oldest daughter of Patrick and Norma (Costello) Hennessey.  Her parents ran a busy household of ten children, Susan H. (Albert) Kobayashi, Paul C. Hennessey, Peter J. (Mary) Hennessey, and Patricia’s sister-in-law Janet D. Hennessey.  Patricia is predeceased by her sisters Theresa H. Ambrose, Frances H. Mulligan, Sheila H. Malloy, Nancy L. Hennessey, and her brothers Joseph J. Hennessey, and Patrick J. Hennessey Jr..

Now imagine, it’s 1958 and you’re the sweetest young woman in all the land.  Someone with boundless love and a killer smile.  Across the church pews is a dashing young gentleman.  A recent import from Milton.  A tall young man of great potential and witty too.  That brief encounter was the initial spark to their life together as husband and wife, a union of 62 years.  The parents of four children, Jean Malloy of Naples, FL, Jane (Daniel) O’Brien of North Easton, MA, John G. Malloy Jr. of Colrain, MA, J. Patrick (Karuna) Malloy of Valley Center, CA.  Patricia is the proud grandmother of two grandsons Myles (Greta) O’Brien, Providence, RI, and Cole O’Brien Boston, MA.  Blessed by their love of Meema, Myles and Cole will remember and treasure “Meema Mystery Rides”.   Those were precious times spent soaking in her love of life, her generosity and boundless enthusiasm.  Whenever Patricia was near her grandsons or their names mentioned, her blue eyes sparkled like the stars in the night sky.  She loved them from the stars and back.

Patricia held many of life’s treasures close to her heart.  The love of family – a life surrounded by brothers, sisters, and countless nieces and nephews.  Friendships, both lifelong and newly formed made her life complete- an ever widening circle of friends.  Family and friends, all part of her life’s tender embrace.

Patricia’s career ambitions presented new challenges and adventures.  Patricia introduced the “Home Creativity” program to the Canton Public Schools.  Many proud Canton Middle school alumni learned from Patricia’s special skills as a seamstress and chef.  Her life as an educator would last many years, culminating with the Mass Department of Education.  Later in life, Patricia and John’s cottage on Nantucket springboarded her to the world of retail sales.  Home furnishings was her niche. And as John predicted, Patricia quickly became one of her own best customers.  Patricia’s loyal customer base came to appreciate her flair for their home interiors and her impeccable sense of fashion.  Her trend setting outfits and dazzling smile matched with her caring warmth made for a winning combination.

Patricia will always be remembered for her deep love of her husband John, her family and countless friends.  A woman of deep faith-her hope for all was to cherish each day.  Always leading by example, Patricia’s recipe for life included eating healthy, exercising, and keeping a fresh lipstick at the ready – plus a handy nail file.  And remember your smile will win the day.

Patricia’s (Mum, Meema) love had no bounds and her heart always had room for more.

Patricia’s family wishes to extend their gratitude to Cornerstone at Canton, and Accent Care in Milton.
