Nicholas D'Alessandro Obituary

Nicholas D'Alessandro of Canton, formerly of Dedham and Hyde Park, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2023 in Stoughton surrounded by his loving family. He was a beloved husband, cherished father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend. Born and raised in Hyde Park MA, Nicholas was the son of the late Anthony and Lucia D'Alessandro, and grew up alongside his siblings Connie Balerna, Anthony D'Alessandro, the late Dominic D'Alessandro and Mary Luciani.

Nicholas attended Hyde Park High School before furthering his education at Northeastern University. During his high school years he was a member of the football team and also ran track. His determination and commitment to his education were a testament to his character, setting the foundation for his future success in the business world. After they married, Nicholas and Eileen settled in Dedham to raise their family, later moving to Canton in 1984 where he spent the remainder of his years.

Nicholas was a self-starter and president of the family business A D'Al and Sons, in Dedham. His dedication and hard work were evident in the success of the business, and his involvement in the Utilities Contractors Association further solidified his commitment to his profession. After selling the business, Nicholas continued his career at Lebaron Foundry in Brockton, where he achieved the title of top salesman, a testament to his tenacity and perseverance. Notably, he also patented a sewer chimney system demonstrating his innovative spirit and inventiveness.

Nicholas was a devoted family man, deeply loved by his family. He was the beloved husband of the late Eileen D'Alessandro, and their love story was one of deep commitment and mutual respect. He was the cherished father of Michael D’Alessandro and his wife Jean of GA, Lisa Buckman and her husband Paul of Attleboro, Mark D’Alessandro and his husband Kleber of Roslindale, and Lynne Cammarata and her partner Mark Nicholson of Stoughton. He was a loving grandfather to Nicholas Buckman, Patrick Buckman, Lauren (Buckman) Massey, Anna D’Alessandro, Cross Cammarata and the late Andrew D’Alessandro. He was also great grandfather to Rylee, Owen, Bailey, Alexandra and Henry. His love for his family was evident in his dedication to them, and he leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion.

He was an avid  fan of all Boston sports as well as the biggest fan at any of his grandchildren’s sporting events or activities. He was an avid bowler for many years. After retiring he spent winters in Venice, FLA where he loved to golf with his many close friends. Summers were spent at Sagamore Beach enjoying boating, fishing, lobstering and time on the beach with his family. His inquisitive nature and constant quest for new ideas kept his mind sharp and his spirit youthful.

Nicholas leaves behind a legacy of hard work, dedication, and love for his family. His life was a testament to the power of perseverance, the importance of education, and the value of family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
