Neil O'Brien Obituary

Neil Charles O'Brien, passed away on January 20, 2026, at his home in Canton. Born in Boston and raised in Norwood.

He was the beloved husband of Ruthann (Casale) O'Brien and father of Matthew O'Brien and his wife Meaghan Moriarty of Wayland, Meghan and her wife Katie of Missouri, Kelli O'Brien, and Kathryn O'Brien, both of Canton. Loving grandfather to Olivia and Brynne O'Brien. Brother to Patricia O’Brien and her partner Trudy Stein of New Hampshire and Sheila Piccirilli and her husband Michael of Bellingham. Son of the late Charles and Grace O’Brien. He was predeceased by his nephew Paul Piccirilli. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

A proud graduate of Norwood High School, Neil's work ethic and talent led him to a fulfilling career at Chrysler in Mansfield. He was a proud member of the UAW Region 9A. Neil was a hobby handyman and mechanic and always made sure his wife and children's cars were running smoothly. His love for the outdoors was evident in his meticulously cared-for garden and the pride he took in his yard. He was a passionate New England sports fan and took joy in watching his teams win championships.

Though he will be deeply missed, the memories he created will bloom eternal in the gardens of our hearts.
