Maureen Gaspa

Maureen Gaspa, age 80, of Canton, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on December 13, 1945, in Boston, she was the daughter of Margaret Muldoon and was raised in South Boston before making Canton her home in 1978.

Maureen was the beloved wife of James W. Gaspa, with whom she shared a long and devoted marriage. She was a loving and proud mother to James C. Gaspa and his wife Laura of Millis, Stephen M. Gaspa and his wife Laura of Norwood, and Nicole E. Gaspa of Canton. She was also the cherished sister of Eileen Welsh of Walpole, the late Kathleen T Brooks and her late husband David Brooks, and the late Kevin Muldoon and his wife Debbie Muldoon. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Maureen took great joy in her role as grandmother to Emily M. Rufo and her husband John, Christopher J. Gaspa, Brady M. Gaspa, and Kaitlyn M. Gaspa, and her family meant everything to her.

For many years, Maureen worked at various Star Market locations, where she was known for her dedication, reliability, and warm presence. She took pride in her work and the friendships she formed along the way. Her strong work ethic and steady nature reflected the values she carried throughout her life.

Maureen enjoyed a simple and meaningful life centered around family, friendship, and the everyday moments she treasured most. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and found great happiness in being part of their lives. She especially looked forward to going out with her girlfriends every Wednesday, a tradition she cherished dearly. She also loved going out to eat, particularly when she was with her husband, and those shared meals were among her favorite times. In addition, she enjoyed going to the gym in Canton, where she remained active and connected to her community.

Those who knew Maureen will remember her as a kind, loyal, and loving woman whose presence brought comfort and joy to those around her. She had a gentle strength and a warm heart, and she was happiest when surrounded by the people she loved. Her devotion to her family was evident in all that she did, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Maureen’s life was one of love, commitment, and connection. She leaves behind a family who will forever cherish her memory and honor the example she set through her kindness, her resilience, and her deep devotion to those she held dear. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit will remain present in the many lives she touched throughout her 80 years.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home on Monday, June 15th from 4-7 p.m. A prayer service will follow the visiting hours at 7 p.m., all are welcome.
