Mary F. Trotter, of Sharon, who was born in Boston, MA, and passed away on April 17, 2026, at Boston Medical Center South in Brockton, died surrounded by the quiet dignity of a life marked by devotion, steadiness, and love.
She was the beloved wife of Robert K. Trotter and a cherished sister of Alice Bradford of Maryland and the late Peter Karagozian. Her family remained at the center of her life, and she carried those bonds with her throughout her years with warmth, loyalty, and grace. Those who knew her will remember the kindness in her heart and the gentle strength with which she faced each season of life.
Mary was raised in Jamaica Plain and graduated from Jamaica Plain High School, where she began building the foundation of the thoughtful and determined woman she would become. She later made her home in Sharon for the last 46 years, where she became a familiar and respected presence in her community. Over the years, she formed lasting connections with neighbors, friends, and acquaintances who came to appreciate her friendly nature and her sincere interest in the lives of others.
Her professional life was defined by dedication and reliability. Mary worked for 33 years as an Underwriter for John Hancock Insurance before retiring. Throughout her long career, she was known for her strong work ethic, her attention to detail, and the dependable manner in which she carried out her responsibilities. She took pride in her work and in the years she devoted to it, earning the respect of colleagues and all who had the opportunity to work alongside her.
Outside of her career, Mary found enjoyment in simple pleasures that brought her comfort and happiness. She enjoyed playing Bingo and watching video games, pastimes that reflected her easygoing spirit and her ability to take pleasure in everyday moments. Her interests brought her relaxation and joy, and they were part of the balanced and grounded life she created for herself.
Mary will be remembered as a woman of quiet strength, steady devotion, and enduring affection for those closest to her. She lived her life with sincerity and a deep sense of responsibility to her family and the people around her. Her presence brought reassurance and warmth, and her memory will remain a source of comfort to those who knew and loved her.
Though her passing leaves a deep loss, the example she set through her kindness, perseverance, and love will continue to be felt by her family and friends. Mary F. Trotter leaves behind a legacy of dignity, loyalty, and care that will be treasured always.
A graveside service will be held at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton on Thursday April 30th at 12:30 pm.
