Marjorie O'Neil Obituary

Marjorie A. O'Neil, a cherished sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully at South Shore Hospital on February 18, 2026. Born and raised in Boston, MA. She was the daughter of the late Marjorie A Pitcher.

Raised in the close-knit community of Dorchester, Marjorie was a proud product of the Boston School system, where she laid the foundations of a life characterized by curiosity and a zest for knowledge. She carried these traits into her later years, where she became a beloved member of the Adult Day Care Center in Brockton. It was there that Marjorie indulged her passion for arts and crafts, bringing color and joy to the lives of those around her. Her love for crossword puzzles, word searches reflected her sharp wit and love for words, while her enthusiasm for bingo days was contagious, often bringing smiles and excitement to her fellow players.

Marjorie's interests were as varied as they were delightful. She found solace in the antics and stories of the Golden Girls, a show that mirrored her own values of friendship and resilience. Game shows, with their mix of knowledge and chance, kept her engaged and entertained, and they were a staple of her leisure time.

Marjorie's family was her heart's cornerstone. She was a loving sister to Judy A. Granada of Lakeville, Darlene M. Fagan of Lakeville, Susan A. Jacobs of Bristol, RI, Janet & William Maher of Revere, Virginia & the late Teddy Cross of Winthrop, Walter & June Jacobs of Braintree, Pamela & Kevin Taylor of Quincy, and Brian Pitcher of Quincy. She also held a special place in her heart for her late brother, Paul E. Pitcher. The bond she shared with her siblings was one of mutual respect, support, and unending love. This bond extended to her many nieces and nephews, who will remember their Aunt Marjorie for her spirited tales, her infectious laugh, and her ability to make each of them feel uniquely cherished. Marjorie love of animals to include parakeets, kitties, and dogs brighten her day.

In her final years, Marjorie formed an unbreakable bond with her devoted caretaker, Mary Kyne & Family of Brockton. Mary's dedication and compassion ensured that Marjorie's days were filled with comfort, dignity, and moments of joy. The relationship they shared was a testament to the profound impact that kindness and companionship can have on one's life journey.

Marjorie A. O'Neil lived a life rich with experiences and relationships. She will be remembered as a beacon of light who could brighten a room with her sweetness, kindness, generosity and being present with engaging conversation and leaving a lasting impression on the hearts of those she met. Her legacy is one of love, laughter, and the enduring power of family and friends. As we say farewell to Marjorie, we celebrate a life well-lived and a spirit that will continue to inspire and guide us in the days to come.
