Margaret Bynoe Obituary

Margaret E. Bynoe (née Cooper), age 102, a loving and faith-filled matriarch, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her devoted family on August 9, 2024. Born in the vibrant neighborhood of Harlem, NY, Margaret's gentle spirit and kind heart touched all who knew her throughout her 86 years.

Margaret's life journey began in Harlem, where she was born, and later moved to the Bronx, a place she called home for many years. It was there that she nurtured her family and created a lifetime of memories. Nineteen years ago, she settled in Sharon, MA, where she continued to be a pillar of love and support to her family and community.

A graduate of Morris High School in the Bronx, Margaret carried the values of diligence and perseverance throughout her life. Her professional career included several dedicated years as a Clerk for an Insurance Company, where she was known for her meticulous work and warm camaraderie with colleagues.

Margaret's interests were a reflection of her serene and cultured nature. She found joy in the ivory keys of her piano, playing compositions by Mozart and Chopin with a passion that resonated within the walls of her home. Her faith was paramount, and she was an active and cherished member of the First Baptist Church in Sharon, where her presence will be deeply missed.

Family was the cornerstone of Margaret's world. She was the beloved wife of the late Ivan G. Bynoe, and together they shared a lifetime of love and partnership. She was a guiding light to her children, Barbara R. Smith and her late husband James of Charlotte, N.C., Margaret H. Bynoe and her husband Kenneth of Sharon, and Claire D. Rabsatt and her late husband Calvin of Waddington, NY. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Tracey Smith, James Smith, II, Stacey Rabsatt, Lisa Tharps, and Robyn Jefferson, as well as her great-grandchildren, Brittany, Jeanne, Erinn, Kendyl, Isaiah, Charlie, and Taylor, and great, great grandchildren, Nala, Synai, Roman, Edyn, Zora, and Kayden, all of whom will carry forward her teachings of kindness and compassion.

Margaret was predeceased by her brothers, Robert and Edward Cooper, and she is remembered as the cherished sister who lives on in the hearts of those she left behind.

Margaret E. Bynoe's life was a testament to the power of love, the strength of faith, and the beauty of a gentle soul. Her unwavering support, boundless love, and the grace with which she approached life will be forever cherished by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. As we bid farewell to this remarkable woman, we celebrate the indelible mark she has left on our hearts and the world. Her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us, just as the melodies she played will echo in our memories. Rest in peace, dear Margaret, until we meet again.
