Lewis M George

Lewis Mitchell George, age 81 of Peabody, MA, formerly of Norton and Canton, MA passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 15th, 2023 at The Kaplan House in Danvers, MA.

He was born February 5th, 1942 in Boston and was a graduate of Newton North High School. Lew spent the majority of his professional career, working his way up to Chief Financial Officer at the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) before launching a successful career in real estate. He also had a life long passion for horse racing, baseball and most importantly his family.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Eleanor Marie Baldini and sister-in-law Marguerite Camozzi, sons and daughter in-laws, Christopher and Stephanie George of Middleton, MA and Michael George and Denise Carroll of Ashland, MA, grandsons, Nikolas and Brandon George of Middleton MA as well as nephews Peter, John and Joe Camozzi and niece Annemarie Khoka.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eva and Mitchell George, his aunt Florence Mazares and brother-in-law, Ermenegildo Camozzi.

Visiting hours at Dockray and Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street, Canton, MA 02021 Saturday morning July 22nd from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. A prayer service will be held immediately following at 11:00 am and burial will follow at Highland Cemetery in Norwood, MA.
