Lawrence Poirier, Jr

Lawrence J. Poirier, Jr. age 59 of Canton passed away at the Beth Israel Hospital after a brief illness June 6th. Born in Norwood, he graduated from Canton High School and lived most of his life in Canton. He was the Proprietor of Poiriers Garage in Canton for 45 years. He was an avid Patriots fan and a longtime season ticket holder. He was an avid fisherman and was a member of the North Walpole Fish & Game, a member of the Italian/American Club in Walpole, a former member of the Canton Town Club, a former Call Fireman for the Canton Fire Department & formerly played in the Canton Mens Softball League. Beloved husband of Dianne (Sullivan). Father of Tammy A. Dietenhofer & her husband Robert of Taunton. Proud grampy of Madison Dietenhofer. Beloved son of Lawrence J. Poirier Sr. & his wife Irene of Canton. Brother of Patricia Healey & her husband Tom of Plainville, John Poirier & his wife Louise of Taunton. Stepbrother of James Deagle & his wife Bonnie of Brockton, Richie Deagle & his wife of AZ & the late Charlie Deagle. Son in law of Russell & Evelyn Sullivan of FL. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Tuesday 4-8 pm. Funeral mass at St. John the Evangelist Church Canton Wednesday morning at 10:30. Interment Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
