Kenneth John Morgan, known affectionately as Ken to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2024, in his apartment in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. Born on December 7, 1965, in Stoughton, Massachusetts, Ken's life was a testament to the values of hard work, dedication, and the importance of family.
Ken graduated from Stoughton High School. After high school, Ken answered the call to serve to his country and became a veteran of the U.S. Army. His service was a source of great pride and instilled in him a sense of discipline and commitment that he carried throughout his life.
Following his military service, Ken returned home to and applied the skills he had learned in the Army to a career as a plumber, handyman, and skilled craftsman. His work was more than a job; it was a way of connecting with his community and helping others. Ken's hands were rarely still, as he was always found fixing, building, or improving something.
Ken's interests were as varied as they were passionate. He had an enduring love for concerts, where he enjoyed the company of family and friends while reveling in the music that moved him. He would love watching NASCAR races, sharing the thrill of the sport with those closest to him. Ken also found solace and joy in his many hobbies, which included fixing cars, fishing, and spending time at the beach. These activities were not just pastimes for Ken; they were integral chapters in the story of a life.
Described by those who knew him as handy, kind, and loving, Ken's character was evident in every interaction and every relationship. He was a loving father to Kenneth Jr., Hannah, Nevin, and Claire Morgan, who will carry forward his legacy of love and strength. Ken also shared a special bond with his former spouse, Jean Morgan, who, along with his children, survives him.
Ken was the cherished son of the late Robert S. Morgan and is survived by his mother, Louise J. Morgan. He was the brother of the late George A. Morgan and his wife Maureen and is survived by his sister Barbara J. Ryan and her husband Thomas, brother to Robert S. Morgan Jr. and his wife Donna, and Christopher P. Morgan and his wife Susie. His passing is also mourned by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, who will remember their Uncle Ken with fondness and admiration.
Ken's life was a reflection of the values he held dear: family, friendship, and a commitment to lending a helping hand. His presence was a gift to those who knew him, and his memory will be cherished as a source of comfort and inspiration. As we say goodbye to Kenneth John Morgan, we celebrate a life that was full of purpose, laughter, and an abundance of love. Ken's legacy is not only in the work of his hands but in the hearts of those he touched.
He will be deeply missed, yet his spirit will continue to guide and influence us all.
