Kathleen "Kay" Fox Obituary

Kathleen T. “Kay” Fox (Connors), a beacon of faith and kindness, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2024, at the Ruth McLain Hospice House in Braintree, Massachusetts. Born in Dorchester, MA, Kathleen's life was a testament to her loving spirit and enduring devotion to her family, faith, and community.

A cherished soul, Kay was the beloved wife of the late Joseph P. Norton and the late John Fox. Her legacy of love continues through her children: Kathleen E. Norton of Southbridge, Donna M. Norton of Dedham, Joseph P. Norton and his wife Marcie of Tacoma, WA, Stephen J. Norton and his partner Brenda of West Dennis, Margaret Norton Stephens and her partner Dean of Gig Harbor, WA, Anne N. Murray and her husband Brian of Braintree, and she holds dear the memory of her late daughter Julie Norton. Kathleen's warmth and guidance will also be missed by her seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, who were the joy of her life.

She was the last surviving sibling of the Connors family, predeceased by her brothers and sister, Lawrence, Sr. Marguerite Connors, and Eileen Comer. Kay's presence as a sister and friend will be deeply missed, but the memories shared will continue to inspire those who knew her.

Kay's early years were spent in the vibrant community of Dorchester, where she graduated from Gate of Heaven High School. Her commitment to education led her to a fulfilling career as a Teacher's Aid in the Dennis Yarmouth School System, where she dedicated many years to supporting Special Needs Children. Her compassion and patience in this role made a significant impact on the lives of countless young individuals and their families. Kay treasured fond memories spending time on the beach with her children, grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.  She had many happy memories of Straight Ahead Beach.

After moving to Braintree two and a half years ago, Kay brought with her a rich history from her time living in Mashpee and West Dennis. As a longtime active parishioner and Eucharistic minister at Christ the King Parish in Mashpee and at Pius X Church in S. Yarmouth, she nurtured her community with the same love and care she provided her family. Kathleen's devout Catholic faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she led several Cursillo weekends on the Cape, guiding others in their spiritual journeys and also was a longtime volunteer for St. Vincent dePaul in Mashpee.

Those who knew Kay would describe her as a faith-filled, loving, and kind individual. Her unwavering support and gentle guidance were sources of comfort and strength to all who were blessed to be in her circle. Kay's life was a living example of her deeply held beliefs, and her actions spoke volumes of her commitment to serving others.

As we bid farewell to Kathleen T. Fox, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a soul that touched so many. Her spirit, characterized by boundless love and kindness, will forever be cherished and remembered. Kathleen's journey on this earth may have come to a close, but her legacy of love and faith will continue to resonate in the hearts of those she has left behind.
