Judith Murphy Obituary

Judith A. Murphy, age 79, of Canton passed away June 11th after a courageous battle with cancer. Born and raised in Somerville, she started a family of her own there before moving to Canton in 1974. Judy devoted her life to her husband, children, and grandchildren. Nothing was more important to her than taking care of and spending time with her family. Whether it was vacationing, going out to dinner, or having a Sunday dinner or cookout, taking care of family came first to Judy. Judy’s one guilty pleasure was an ice cream soda with chocolate ice cream and whipped cream from Brigham’s. Beloved wife of the late Francis A. Murphy. Mother of Kimberly Murphy of Canton, Jennifer Murphy Curtis of Canton, Joseph Murphy of Plymouth and the late Francis “Franky” Murphy. Sister of Linda D’Orsi of Reading and Jean Benner of NH. Also survived by 6 grandchildren, Alex Curtis, Nicholas Curtis, Daniel Curtis, Johnny Matanes, Mark Matanes, and Shannon Murphy. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Monday 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass at St. Oscar Romero Church, Canton Tuesday morning at 10:00. Burial Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne Tuesday afternoon at 1:45 pm.
