Joseph Berardi Obituary

Joseph D. Berardi, age 90 of Canton passed away February 14th at the VA Hospital in W. Roxbury.  Born and raised in Canton, he was a lifelong resident of the town.  He graduated from Canton High School in 1955 where he was a star player on the football team.  After graduation he went on to serve in the United States Army.   Joe was a member of the Canton Fire Department for 30 years before retiring in 2000. 

He was a member of the Canton Town Club for many years. He loved spending his summers in Dennis where he enjoyed fishing, crabbing and shell fishing. 

Beloved husband of Mary L. Berardi (Murphy).  Father of Joseph D. Berardi Jr. and his wife Jill of Hingham, Chris J. Berardi and his wife Kelly of Orleans, and Sean M. Berardi and his wife Andrea of Canton.  Brother of Edward Berardi and his wife Donna of Canton, Ann Kirk and her husband Tom of AZ, and the late Dan Berardi, Frank Berardi, Gino Berardi, Gilda Colp, Richard Berardi, and Robert Berardi.  Grandfather of Ava, Andrew, Ben, Ryan, Joey, Micky, Lucia, and Carina.  Survived by many niece and nephews.

Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington St. Canton, Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.  Funeral Mass at St. Oscar Romero Church, Canton Friday morning at 11:30.  Burial will follow at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Canton EMT Assn 99 Revere St. Canton, MA 02021 or the Canton Veterans Service Dept. 660 Washington St. Canton, MA 02021
