John E. Lagsdin Jr

John E. Lagsdin Jr., 84, of Sharon, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on January 1, 2024. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, John grew up in the town of Sharon and was a graduate of Sharon High School.

John's journey through life was marked by his enduring love for his family. He was the beloved husband of the late Ann E. (Dennis) and a loving father to his children, Ann Maguire and her husband Bob of Abington, John Lagsdin III and his partner Donna Cummings of Norwood, and Jim Lagsdin of Stoughton. He found joy in his role as a grandfather to Kate and Rob Maguire and was a supportive brother to Bea Zakur of Mansfield.

Professionally, John dedicated many years to Goode Management in Westwood, where he worked in Property Maintenance before his retirement. Known for his ability to fix almost anything, he could often be found lending his expertise to family and friends.   

John's interests reflected his love for the outdoors and a simple life. He enjoyed walking his dogs through the trails of Moose hill, tending to his vegetable garden and spending time with his grandchildren. 
 

A proud veteran of the United States Navy, John's patriotism and commitment to service were unwavering. His involvement with the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) in Sharon was not just as a member, but as a leader, where he served as a Past Commander. He found camaraderie and purpose in supporting fellow veterans, advocating for their needs, and honoring their sacrifices.

Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington Street Canton on Friday from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm.  Funeral service at 12:30 pm. Burial to follow at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.
