John J. Casey Jr.

John J. Casey Jr.  was born on April 11, 1940, in Boston, Massachusetts, and passed away on June 14, 2026, in Plymouth, Massachusetts at 86 years young. “Jack” as he was known to all, lived a life marked by devotion to family, friendships and good humor. He was the son of the late John Sr. and Evelyn Casey of Brighton MA.  Jack was known throughout his life as a kind and dependable man, devoted husband and wonderful dad. He is remembered fondly with love by all who knew him.

Jack was the beloved husband of Constance Casey.  Jack met Connie during a ski trip in February 1962, and they married on September 29, 1962. They recently celebrated 63 years of marriage together. When their four children were adults, Jack and Connie had the opportunity to travel to many wonderful places together and they shared fond memories.

Jack was a devoted father to Mary McCauley and her husband David and their children of Melrose, MA, James Casey and his wife Bebe and their children of New London, NH, John Casey and his wife Amy and their children of East Bridgewater, MA, and Karen Casey and her children of Plymouth MA. He was the beloved brother of the late David, Richard and Dennis Casey, and brother-in-law to Elaine Pegurri and husband Ron. He was a cherished grandfather to many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, uncle to many nieces and nephews, and godfather to several. He had many close friends including Helen and her late husband John Travers, and his poker buddies. His family and friends were the center of his life, and he took great pride in all their accomplishments. Each of them brought him great joy and deep pride.

Jack was raised in Brighton MA, he graduated from St. Columbkille High School, where he formed the values of discipline and faith that helped guided him throughout his life. Following his education, he served his country honorably as an Army veteran from 1958 to 1961. His service reflected his sense of duty and his willingness to answer the call when needed, qualities that remained with him long after his military years. Jack built a long and respected career with the US Postal Service and retired after 30 years of service. He was known for his reliability and strong work ethic and took considerable pride in his job.

Although Jack grew up in Brighton MA, he spent many years living with his family in Brockton before making Stoneham and then Plymouth his home. He was formerly a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #121 in Brighton, and the Elks in Brighton Square where he shared in fellowship and service.

Jack was a man who valued simple pleasures and meaningful companionship, and he found enjoyment in golfing and bowling, pursuits that gave him both relaxation and time with others. He will be remembered for his devotion to his family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of love and loyalty. Those who knew him will remember his strength, his kindness, and the enduring care he showed to his family and friends throughout his life.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home in Canton, on Friday, June 19th, from 9-11 a.m.  A funeral service will immediately follow the visiting hours, starting at 11a.m. Burial at Knollwood Memorial Park.
