John Cammarata Obituary

John R. Cammarata, of Stoughton, formerly of Canton passed away peacefully at home August 21st surrounded by his loving family. Born on October 4th, 1938, in Boston, John's life was a testament to the strength and warmth of his character.

Family was the cornerstone of John's life. He was the proud son of Rocco and Caroline Cammarata and grew up with a foundation of strong family values. As a beloved husband, John shared a beautiful and enduring love with his wife, Frances Cammarata. Together, they nurtured a family that was a source of immense pride and joy. John was a devoted father to Aurora Cammarata of Newport, RI, Lisa Frisbie and her husband Alex of Stoughton, John Cammarata of Stoughton, Dominic Cammarata and his wife Carolyn of Canton, Tracy Homer and her husband John of Easton, and Anthony Cammarata and his wife Julie of Frisco, CO. He was a brother of Carolyn Johnson of Canton and the late D. Richard Cammarata.  His legacy also includes his role as a doting grandfather to Joseph Mula and wife Susan, Nicole Nicotera and husband Mike, Jaclyn Mula and partner Jon, Sadie Homer and partner Jason, and Madelyn Homer, and a great-grandfather to Audrey Mula, Stella Nicotera, and Carmelo Dunston, who will all cherish his memory.

John's educational journey began at Norwood High School, and after proudly serving his country in the Marines, he graduated from Canton High School. He furthered his education by attending Bentley University for two years, where he honed his skills that would later contribute to his professional success.

As an entrepreneur, John was the respected owner of Office Products LLC. in Stoughton, where his work ethic and integrity were evident to all who had the pleasure of doing business with him. John was active in his community through his involvement in the Son’s of Italy in Canton and other various associations.

John coached Pop Warner football and was a familiar face at the concession stands during games, always ready with a warm smile and words of encouragement. His volunteer work extended to the CYO, where he positively impacted the lives of countless young people.

John's faith played a central role in his life; it was his compass and comfort. He volunteered for the pre-Cana program at St. John the Evangelist Church in Canton, guiding couples on their journey to marriage with wisdom and compassion. His faith-filled nature was an inspiration to all who knew him.

For John, enjoyment came in many forms. He relished the thrill of skiing down snowy slopes, the tranquility of camping under the stars, cooking with his family and friends, and the delight of family trips to Disney World. Each activity was an opportunity for him to spend precious time with his family and create memories that would last a lifetime.

Described by those who knew him as faith-filled, loving, and kind, John's presence was a gift to his family and to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love, service, and compassion will continue to live on through the many lives he touched.
