Jimmie Daniels Obituary

Jimmie Junius Daniels passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on January 7, 2025. Born in the Lower Eastside of Manhattan, New York. Jimmie's journey began as a city boy who would grow into a distinguished man who had a quirky sense of humor and an inquisitive mind. His life was marked by a profound dedication to his family, a successful Polaroid career, and a lifelong passion of fixing cars that brought him great joy.

Jimmie had a lifelong pursuit of knowledge and excellence. He was a proud graduate of Brooklyn Automotive High School, where he first discovered his knack for mechanics and problem-solving. His academic journey continued at Morgan State University, where he honed his skills and emerged as a brilliant Chemical Engineer. His career began in Wilmington, DE at ICI where he met the love of his life, Jacqueline Irene Church. In 1979, they established roots in Stoughton, Massachusetts, a place they would call home for the rest of his days.

For nearly three decades, Jimmie applied his expertise at Polaroid, where he was not only highly respected for his professional abilities but also for his analytical mind and sharp tongue. Beyond his professional life, Jimmie was a man of diverse passions. Traveling brought him joy as he sought new experiences. With an ear for melody, he once graced the stage as a member of a Doo-Wop group in his youth, a testament to his love for music that persisted throughout his life. Jimmie's appreciation for music evolved with the times, as he enjoyed listening to R&B and Rap, genres that kept him connected to the pulse of contemporary culture.

Family was the cornerstone of Jimmie's world. He was the beloved husband of Jacqueline (Church) Daniels, a partnership that was a beacon of love and mutual respect. A father who instilled values and wisdom, Jimmie is survived by his daughters, Danielle Suggs and her husband Eldridge Suggs of Atlanta, and Dr. Janeen Daniels and her husband David Glynn Jr. of Bangor, Maine. His siblings, Darcella Hill, Vanessa Clark, and Irene Kevelyn Daniels, all of Manhattan, New York will remember their brother with fondness and pride.

Jimmie's legacy continues through his grandchildren, Brianna Francis, Nyla Nuckles, and Liam Glynn, who will carry forward his spirit and life lessons. His influence also extends to a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a large extended family, all of whom were touched by his kindness and wisdom.

In reflection of Jimmie Junius Daniels' life, it is evident that he was a man who lived fully, loved deeply, and left an indelible imprint on the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him. His journey on earth may have concluded, but the stories, lessons, and love he shared will resonate for generations to come. Jimmie's life was a testament to the beauty of a life well-lived, and he will be profoundly missed by all.
