Jean Walker Obituary

Jean A. Walker, a cherished daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on November 27, 1950, in Brookline, Massachusetts, Jean was the loving daughter of the late William and Grace Walker. Her life was a testament to her strong will, loving nature, and unwavering faith.

Raised in Hyde Park, Jean was a proud graduate of Hyde Park High School. Her roots in the community ran deep, and she carried the values learned in her youth throughout her life. In 1999, she became a resident of Randolph, where she continued to live a life full of purpose and joy.

Jean's professional journey was marked by dedication and loyalty, as she spent 41 years as a billing clerk for National Grid and Boston Gas. Her work ethic and commitment to excellence left a lasting impression on her colleagues and those who had the pleasure of working alongside her.

Her faith played a significant role in her life. As a devout Protestant, Jean found strength and solace in her beliefs. Her spirituality was a guiding force, providing her with comfort and a community of like-minded individuals who became an extended family to her.

An active member of the Weymouth Ski Club, Jean's passion for skiing was evident to all who knew her. She found her greatest joy on the slopes of Wildcat, Tuckerman's Ravine, and the mountains of the West. Her adventurous spirit and love for the outdoors were infectious, and she often shared this passion with her family and friends.

Family was the cornerstone of Jean's life. She was a devoted sister to Lawrence Walker and his late wife Susan of Canton, and to Susan Meloski and her late wife Kevin of Dedham. Her role as an aunt was one she cherished deeply, sharing her wisdom and love with her nephews Brian and Craig Walker, her niece Tara O'Brien and her husband Paul, and her grandnephews Bryce, Scott, Brendan, and Nathan O'Brien. Jean's presence in their lives will be deeply missed, but her influence will continue to be felt for generations to come.

Jean's departure leaves a void in the lives of those who loved her, but her memory will be celebrated and her legacy honored by all who were fortunate enough to have known her. Her indomitable spirit, kindness, and the light she brought into this world will never be forgotten.

Jean A. Walker lived a life full of love, service, and adventure. Her passing in Braintree, Massachusetts, marks not only the end of a remarkable life but also the beginning of a legacy that will live on in the hearts and memories of her family and friends. Jean's story is one of a life well-lived, and she will be remembered with love and admiration by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
