Janice Boucher, 72, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and warmth that will be cherished always.
A longtime resident of Canton and East Sandwich, Janice built both a beautiful home life and a respected career. As a dedicated realtor, she took great pride in helping families find not just houses, but places to truly call home. Her integrity, warmth, and strong work ethic earned her the trust, loyalty, and friendship of many throughout the years
Above all else, Janice was a devoted and loving mother. She is survived by her daughters, Jennifer Dempsey and her husband, Steven Dempsey, of East Sandwich, and Suzanne Bertone and her partner, Arny Santos, of Stoughton; her cherished grandson, Raymond Bertone of Mashpee; and many loving cousins, aunts, and uncles of Medford. She was predeceased by her beloved parents, Joseph and Yolanda Moreno of Canton.
Janice found her greatest happiness outdoors. She loved horseback riding and felt a sense of freedom and peace in the saddle. The beach was her sanctuary — she adored the ocean air, warm sand beneath her feet, and any excuse to bask in the sunshine. Whether riding under an open sky or walking along the shoreline, she embraced life with gratitude and quiet strength.
She enjoyed life’s simple pleasures — a perfectly made espresso martini, laughter shared over a cocktail, and even her occasional cigarette (when her girls would allow it). These small rituals were part of her spirited charm and a reflection of her independent nature. Janice lived fully and on her own terms.
She will be remembered for her vibrant personality, her love of sunshine and salt air, her affection for animals, and the deep, unbreakable bond she shared with her family. Her presence was strong, and her memory will live on in the countless stories, smiles, and traditions she leaves behind.
Though she may no longer walk beside us, her warmth will forever be felt — in the ocean breeze, in the summer sun, and in every espresso martini raised in her honor.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
Relatives and friends invited to attend visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Friday afternoon from 12:30 to 2:30 pm.
