Helen "Bonnie" (Dillon) D'Attanasio

Helen “Bonnie” D’Attanasio (Dillon) was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She passed away on November 25 surrounded by her family at her home in Bourne, MA. Bonnie was raised in Canton and graduated from Canton High School class of 1973 and earned her hairdressing license the same year. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, David, son David Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Canton, son Michael and his wife Tracey of Pembroke, daughter Allison Santillo and her husband Jon of North Easton, son Albert and future daughter-in-law Lauren Conkling of Canton and her grandchildren Donovan, Leo, Darla, and Wylie.

Daughter of William and Helen Dillon II, Bonnie also leaves behind siblings William Dillon III and his wife Maryanne of Abington, sister Linda Rogers and her husband James of Canton, brother John and wife Wini of Canton, sister Kathleen of Canton, brother-in-law Albert D’Attanasio and wife Linda of Canton, brother-in-law Paul D’Attanasio and his wife Maureen of Canton, brother-in-law Richard D’Attanasio of Canton, and brother-in-law James D’Attanasio and his wife Monica of Foxboro. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Bonnie was an accomplished hairdresser and owned Super Sports Cuts in Canton for many years. She had a passion for traveling. Bermuda, Aruba, and Las Vegas were just a few of her favorite destinations. She also looked forward to her annual cruises and relaxing on the beach down the Cape. One of Bonnie’s favorite things to do was shopping with her friends and family finding the best bargains. She also enjoyed crocheting afghan square blankets and sewing coveted angels for the tops of Christmas trees for those she loved.  

Bonnie was proud of her family and was a devoted “Nonni” to her grandchildren. She and her husband David were always planning family events and trips and took every opportunity to spend time with their family. Bonnie was a great listener and storyteller, and everyone will miss hearing her share all the fun and silly stories from a lifetime of good times.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street, Canton on Sunday, December 3rd from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass at St. Oscar Romero Church, 700 Washington Street, Canton on Monday, December 4th at 11:00 am.
