Fran Marathas

Fran (Kathleen) Marathas nee Couchman. Fran passed away peacefully on November 29th, 2023. She was born in Whitstable, Kent, England in 1936 to the late William and Kathleen Couchman. As a teenager, following in the Naval footsteps of her father, she joined the local GNTC (Girls Nautical Training Corps). After finishing school, she was employed as a Legal Secretary, until meeting and marrying Paul Marathas in 1956 when her travel adventures began. During Paul’s 20 years in the US Air Force she made loving homes in every new Air Force base at which he was stationed. Fran was pre-deceased by her Husband, Mother, Father, Sister Joyce, and brother in law Alan. She will be sadly missed by her brother Mickey Couchman and Joan, daughter Susan and husband Philip Allen of Broadstairs Kent, England, her daughter Mary and husband Mike Luke of Woonsockett Rhode Island, her daughter Frances and husband Steven Foote of North Easton, 9 Grandchildren and their partners,10 Great Grandchildren, her Nephew and Nieces. Visiting hours will be at Dockray and Thomas Funeral Home in Canton on Monday December 4th from 5-7pm, then again on Tuesday December 5th from 10am – 12pm, followed by a service from 12pm to 1pm.
