Eleanor Barrile (nee Pergola), aged 96, passed away peacefully in her Canton home on March 5, 2026.
Born May 9, 1929 and raised in Pietraperzia, Sicily, Eleanore immigrated to the United States in 1947. She was a persistent woman with a relentless work ethic. An exceptional seamstress with an innovative mindset, Eleanor built a career for herself in fine tailoring and window treatments. She was also known for designing elegantly detailed clothes, coats, purses, drapes, and home furnishings for friends and family.
Married to Michael Barrile in 1956, they had three devoted sons: Joseph, Henry, and Marco. In 1970, the family relocated to Canton, MA. After becoming a single mother, Eleanor devoted her life to raising thoughtful, hardworking, and caring sons.
Eleanor is preceded by her sister Mary Barrile (nee Pergola) and brothers Frank and Michael Pergola. Eleanor is survived by her sister Elvira Signorino of West Bridgewater, sister-in-law Venezia Pergola (nee LaMonica) of Hyde Park, sons Joseph Barrile and his wife Karin Picarski of Canton, Henry Barrile of Brooksville, FL, Marco Barrile and his wife Roberta Calvagne-Barrile of West Bridgewater, and her much beloved grandchildren Ashlee and Anthony Barrile. As well as the plentiful loving nieces and nephews that she treated and loved as her own.
She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched.
