Edward O'Neill Obituary

Edward B. O’Neill, 58, passed away suddenly at his home in Attleboro on February 11, 2026. Born on September 28, 1967, in Revere, Massachusetts, Edward was a strong, devoted family man whose greatest pride and joy was being a father. A proud United States Marine Corps veteran, Edward carried the values of strength, loyalty, and dedication throughout his life. Known for his sharp sense of humor and ability to make anyone laugh, he left a lasting impression on everyone lucky enough to know him.

Edward was the beloved father of Sean O’Neill and his wife Jordan, Jenny O’Neill, and Brian O’Neill, all of Sharon. Being a dad was the most important role of his life. He loved his children more than anything and gave them a lifetime of memories filled with laughter, love, and unforgettable moments. Whether it was family trips, home-cooked meals, or simply sharing a laugh, Edward made sure his children always felt supported, protected, and deeply loved.

Edward was the loving brother of Michael O’Neill of Tewksbury, Kathleen Meaney and her late husband Jeff of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Charles O’Neill and his wife Frances of Hull and the late John O’Neill.  Beloved son of the late Charles and Edna O’Neill.  He is also survived by his former wife, Lori B. O’Neill (Elfbaum) of Sharon, with whom he shared the joy of raising their children and building a family together.

Raised in Chelsea, Edward was a proud graduate of Chelsea High School. Following high school, Edward proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, an experience that shaped his character and sense of duty. For over 30 years, he worked as a lineman for Verizon, earning the respect of his coworkers through his reliability, strong work ethic, and easygoing nature. He was always willing to help others and was known for his friendly presence and quick wit. Edward lived in Attleboro for the past 12 years and previously resided in Sharon.

Outside of work, Edward found happiness in the simple things he loved most. He was a devoted Boston sports fan, an avid music lover with an incredible taste in records, and someone who truly appreciated a good meal—especially when he was the one cooking it. His love of music, often enjoyed on his record player, and his passion for cooking brought people together and created moments that will be cherished forever.

Edward was deeply involved in his community and especially valued time spent supporting his children. He coached Pop Warner Football in Sharon, teaching young athletes the importance of teamwork, dedication, and perseverance. He was a constant presence at his children’s games and activities, always cheering loudly from the sidelines and showing up in every way that mattered.

Edward will be remembered as a loving father, a proud Marine, a loyal brother, and a hardworking man who could always make people laugh. His memory will live on through the countless stories, shared laughter, and the deep love he gave so freely to his family and friends.
