Dorothy Bambini Obituary

Dorothy C. Bambini (Laroche), age 95, formerly of Canton, Stoughton and Hyde Park, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2025 at her Assisted Living home. She was the beloved wife for 52 years of the late Mario Bambini, cherished Mother of Elaine (Dan) Sullivan of Ayer and Laurie (Larry) Forman of Weymouth, devoted Grandmother to Matthew, Shannon Sullivan, Kaitlyn Vella (Kevin), Alexander and Noah Forman and Great Grandmother to Brecken and Emerson Vella. Predeceased by her parents; Michael and Louise Laroche, brothers; Charles (Edna), Gerald (Mary), Philip (Esther) and sisters Ruth (Andy) and Eileen (Henry). Former sister-in-law to Adrian (Jean), Almo (Ruth), Remo (Irene), Nello (Rita), Bambini, Anna (Primo) Mola, Julia (Charles) Mugherini, Telia (Warren) Forrest, Evelyn (Bernie) Stracqualursi. She missed them all tremendously and shared stories of them often. She is also survived by many wonderful and caring nieces and nephews.

Born and raised in the Readville section of Hyde Park, after marriage she and Mario became the owners of the Neponset Parkway Florist where they raised their children and created many beautiful floral creations for the local community. If you went to prom, got married, were ill, had a baby or had family who passed in the 60’s-80’s, chances were likely they designed your flowers. Their legacy of a strong work ethic was one they passed down to their children and allowed them to be proud of all they accomplished through hard work, quality and dedication.

Dorothy loved her close circle of friends and found pleasure in shopping, attending Bingo and playing cards; a pastime that brought friends and family together for an evening filled with laughter and camaraderie. Her competitive spirit was always in good humor, and her joy was infectious.

She was a great cook and baker and always had to have the pantry stocked with sweet treats in case company paid a visit. For many years we were all gifted with her knitted and crocheted blankets. She was strong in her faith with a special connection to Mother Mary and Saint Anthony.

She was the heart and soul of her family, instilling values of love, resilience, and the importance of togetherness. Her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother was embraced with joy; delighting in the laughter and milestones as she watched them grow. The sparkle in her eyes shone brightest when she was spending time with Brecken and Emerson. They rewarded her with hugs, drawings and cards to decorate her space.

Dorothy's life was also marked by a rich tapestry of relationships with her siblings, Phillip, Charles, and Gerald Laroche, Ruth Dix and Eileen Eklund. During her final months, she recalled past memories of holidays, barbecues and Saturday night card games. A lifetime of memories which never faded.

Welcomed into the Bambini family after marriage, she gained another set of siblings. Adrian, Remo, Nello, Almo, Anna, Julia, Telia and Evelyn.

A family this large assured she was surrounded with so many nieces and nephews who always showed dedication and love. Even as she aged and moved further away from them, they continued to call and visit her, sending her cards, gifts, and flowers. Their phone calls brought her great joy.

She will be deeply missed.
