David Hagan Obituary

David F. Hagan, a cherished soul known for his kindness and loving nature, passed away on January 13, 2024, at Newton Wellesley Hospital in Newton, MA. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, David was a lifelong resident of Canton and a beacon of joy to all who knew him.

The beloved son of Eleanor Hagan (Barbetti) of Canton and the late James W. Hagan, David shared a special bond with his family. He was a devoted brother to Ellen M. Hagan of Canton and Linda Hagan of Halifax, and his warmth and laughter were the heart of family gatherings. David's presence was a gift, and his spirit a comforting embrace that will be dearly missed.

David attended St. Coletta's Day School in Braintree, where he was embraced by the community and formed friendships that lasted a lifetime.

David dedicated himself to serving others through his work with Meals on Wheels. His commitment to this vital service demonstrated his generous nature and his desire to make a positive impact in the lives of those around him.

A multiple-time participant in the Special Olympics, David displayed remarkable athleticism and sportsmanship. His competitive spirit was matched by his camaraderie and fair play, making him a beloved figure at every event.

David's zest for life extended to his many interests. He was an avid fan of Disneyland, where the magic and wonder of the park always brought a smile to his face. An enthusiast of old movies and cartoons, David could often be found quoting his favorite lines and sharing his joy for these timeless classics with others. His love for bowling and golfing and his frequent visits to Dunkin Donuts were a cherished ritual.

To describe David as kind and loving only scratches the surface of the profound impact he had on those around him. His gentle spirit, infectious laugh, and generous heart made him a beloved figure in his community. David's ability to see the good in people and to spread happiness wherever he went was a rare gift that enriched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
