David Earle Cushing, 56, of Canton, MA, born December 24, 1969, in San Francisco, CA—legend has it, on the Golden Gate Bridge—passed away peacefully on August 9, 2025, at his home.
David was a loyal friend, a beloved family member, and a bright, unforgettable presence in the lives of all who knew him. He loved simple pleasures—biking around town in his younger years, sitting in nature, enjoying music on 106.7, dancing to Michael Jackson and Flashdance, and sharing meals at Sunnyside Restaurant in Randolph. David had a remarkable way of making ordinary moments feel special, whether it was savoring his favorite Dairy Queen chocolate ice cream or showing pride in his collection of badges.
He entered lives like a shooting star—sudden, bright, and unforgettable—and once he arrived, he left a lasting mark. His warmth, humor, and compassion were evident in every interaction, and he had a gift for bringing joy to those around him.
He is survived by his family: Pamela Gorman, Bettina Mahoney, Hal Harkins, Joe Faz, and Valery Cushing Santosuosso; and his nephews, Cody and Dylan Smith, who loved him dearly
A celebration of David’s life will be held on August 30th at Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home at 11:00a.m.
