Cynthia “Cindy” M. Nystrom, 61, a longtime resident of Stoughton, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Sunday, December 28, 2025.
Born in Weymouth on July 20, 1964, Cindy was a graduate of Weymouth High School and remained a life long resident of the South Shore. For over three decades, she was a dedicated professional in the food and beverage industry. As a manager at several local establishments, Cindy was known for her tireless work ethic and a passion for hospitality that defined her career.
Dedicated as she was to her work, Cindy’s heart belonged to her family and to the few close friends who knew her well. A self-taught artist, she possessed a quiet, humble talent for drawing and sketching—a private passion she shared only sparingly with others. Her greatest accomplishment, however, was her son, Aaron. Her home, adorned with his many trophies and photos, stands as a testament to the pride she felt for his every accomplishment, from childhood sports to his graduation from college and the start of his professional life.
Those who knew Cindy will most fondly remember her unwavering compassion for animals. She found immense joy and comfort in the companionship of her pets, most notably her beloved Samoyed, Saxon, and her many cats—including her most recent, Maximillian. Cindy's love for animals was a declaration of her compassionate and caring nature. She also found joy in vacationing on Cape Cod along with spending time with friends & family.
Cindy is survived by her son, Aaron Faber of Norwood; her father and stepmother, Philip and Susan Nystrom of Arundel, ME; her brother, Christopher Nystrom of Sharon; and her former partner, Steven Faber of Hull. She was predeceased by her mother, Cecile (Picard) Nystrom.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service, held at Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, on Saturday, January 10th at 12:30 p.m. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home, prior to the service on Saturday, from 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Burial is private.
