Cheryl E. Callahan

Cheryl E (Branagan) Callahan. of Stoughton, formerly of Canton passed away… Born in Boston, to the late Betty Eileen Hanson and William Branagan, and Stepfather Irving T. Hanson the Beloved Wife of Edward J. Callahan Sr. and Mother of Kevin D. Callahan and his Fiancé Linda Difrancesco of Whitman, and her former daughter-in-law Robyn Kaplan Callahan, also E.J. Callahan  Jr. and his wife Anna Callahan of Eastham. Grandmother (Nene) of Teresa A and her wife Alicia Callahan, Gabryelle C., Samuel C., Sofia G. and Michael E. Callahan. Sister of Kathleen Marie Branagan Clark, Sharon Branagan Green, William Branagan, Arthur Branagan, and the late Patricia (Patty) Branagan Boulais, and Alison Switzer.

She was raised in Canton, and graduated from Canton High School where Cheryl and her husband Edward Callahan, who dated through high school were known as the best dancers at Canton High School.

She was a member of the Ponkapoag Chapel in Canton and previously a member of the Parkway Methodist Church in Milton. Cheryl loved going to Nantasket Beach with her family. Cheryl absolutely Loved spending time with her grandchildren whom she loved dearly.

She attended Massasoit Community College and received a Pharmacy Technician Diploma and after working as a secretary for APA, and Consolidated Freight ways. She worked at the Mass. Hospital School in Canton as a secretary with her husband Edward Callahan until they retired together.

She was involved with Stoughton Hockey and known to all as MOM. She also was very involved with Babe Ruth baseball in Stoughton and donated her time to make enough money to build a snack shack that’s still in use today at the Babe Ruth baseball field in Stoughton.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home in Canton on Friday, July 10th at 11 a.m. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service, from 9-11 a.m. Burial at Knollwood Memorial park, Canton.
