Barbara Elizabeth Rahaim (Flaherty) died on May 6, 2024. She was born and raised in Boston, attended Boston schools, and lived in Canton, MA for over 60 years. She shared her life with her husband, Edward G. Rahaim, and their five children and then in turn treasured and enjoyed her 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
She is survived by Ronald Wayne Olson of Canton, MA, Karen Meredith Barrows and her husband Robert of Sandwich, MA, Pamela Jean Olson of Orleans, MA, and Clifford Paul Rahaim and his wife Rachel (Bregman) of Hopkinton, MA.
She is predeceased by her beloved son Brian Douglass Olson and survived by his wife, Laura (Basile) of Marshfield, MA.
She is the sister of William O’Flaherty of Rockland, MA and Darrah Flaherty of Quincy, MA.
She studied nursing at Quincy City Hospital School of Nursing and enjoyed an extensive nursing career for over 35 years. At the age of 60 she received her graduate degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Leslie University and maintained a fruitful solo practice that offered psychotherapy services and spanned many years.
It became clear over time that the purpose of her life was to work with others to explore and discover the meaning of their own lives.
