Barbara Manning Obituary

Barbara A. Manning, age 71, of Brockton formerly of Canton passed away peacefully on February 19, 2026, at the Life Care Center of West Bridgewater. Born in the historic city of Boston, Massachusetts, Barbara’s journey began with the values of love, community, and resilience that she carried throughout her life.

Raised in the heart of Canton, Barbara was a proud graduate of Canton High School, where she established lifelong friendships and a foundation for her future. Her early years in Canton were filled with cherished memories and experiences that she would fondly recount to her children and grandchildren.

Barbara's dedication to her family was the cornerstone of her life. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas G. Manning Jr., and together they built a life filled with love and laughter. She was a loving mother to Kellie Gilmore and her husband Jesse of Maryland, Darcy Sullivan of Brockton, Thomas G. Manning III and his wife Jessica of Dedham, and Scott Manning of Stoughton. Her role as a grandmother was one she embraced with joy and pride. Barbara was blessed with grandchildren Jesse, Riley, Shawn, Erin, and Colin Gilmore, Cailyn and Decklin Sullivan, and great-grandchildren Hazel & Brian Bayne and Lainey Gilmore. She delighted in their accomplishments and milestones, always offering her unwavering support and encouragement.

Her siblings her beloved brother George and Geri Kelly of Punta Gorda Florida, proceeded in death by both her sister Kathleen Billotte of Norton, and brother Michael Kelly, as well as Thomas, Laureen and Karen Kelly.

In her professional life, Barbara served the community as a dispatcher for Pea Pod at Stop & Shop, where she was known for her dependable nature and quick wit. Her colleagues respected her work ethic and her ability to bring a smile to even the most hectic of days.

Beyond her family and work, Barbara found solace and joy in the simple pleasures of life. The beach was her sanctuary, a place where she could reflect on the beauty of nature and the rhythm of the waves. Her love for the ocean was a passion she shared with her loved ones, creating memories that would last a lifetime.
