Funeral Mass at St. Oscar Romero Church, Canton Thursday morning at 11:00 am. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Thursday morning prior to the mass from 9:30 to 10:30. Burial will follow at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
Anne Marie Alence of Providence, Rhode Island (formerly of Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts and Wellesley, Massachusetts), passed away peacefully at Tockwotton on the Waterfront, Providence, Rhode Island on September 13, 2024 at the age of 94. She was born in Medford, Massachusetts the daughter of Francis Flynn and Louise (Murphy) Flynn. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 71 years, Robert W. Alence. Loving mother of Robert Alence Jr. (deceased), Kimberly (Alence) Hardy and her husband Maurice Hardy of Wareham, MA, Kellie (Alence) Lucy and her husband Paul Burgholzer of Natick, MA, Richard Alence and his husband Massimo Valpa of Lake Worth, Florida, Anne (Alence) Trubia of Norwell, MA. Edward Alence (deceased), and Katherine (Alence) Stevens of Gresham, Oregon. She is also survived by her 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Anne devoted her life to family and faith. She enjoyed spending time with her wonderful husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an active volunteer as Eucharistic Minister and Marriage Preparation counselor at St. Paul’s Parish in Wellesley and Corpus Christi Parish in Sandwich, MA. She was an avid quilter and knitter and enjoyed sharing the beautiful quilts and scarfs with family, friends and often those she didn’t know.
