Agata Ialuna Obituary

Agata Ialuna (Ledda) of Hull, formerly of Hyde Park passed away peacefully at home on the 9th of August, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on the 5th of December, 1933, in the picturesque town of Mineo, Italy, Agata's journey through life was marked by her passion for family, gardening, sewing and cooking amazing plentiful meals.

After a rich life in Italy, Agata and her husband made the courageous move to the United States in 1972 with their six children. Despite the change in her surroundings, the essence of her character – loving, family-focused, and brimming with hospitality were constants.

Agata was the beloved wife of the late Giuseppe Ialuna, and together they sowed the seeds of a family that would grow to include their cherished children: Filomena Fulchino and her husband Steven of N.H., Agrippino "Pino" Ialuna and his wife Erica of Stoughton, Maria Ialuna of Stoughton, Rosanna Burke and her late husband George of Hull, Salvatore Ialuna and his wife Signe of Punta Gorda, FL, and Elena Monarch and her husband Michael of Hingham. She was a sister to the late Gaetana Ialuna, Agrippino "Peter" Ledda, and Caterina Rullanti. Agata's legacy also lives on through her adored 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, each of whom she loved with her whole heart.

Agata's life was a testament to the power of loyalty, devotion, and unconditional support to family. As a wife and mother, she fully dedicated her life to the well-being of others.

Agata’s home was always filled with the smell of aromatic home cooked Sicilian cuisine.

For decades, Agata helped run her husband’s construction company. Her greatest talent, however, was designing and sewing her very own fashion pieces for her family.

Agata had an enormous appreciation for music and loved to sing, passions that she passed on to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Most of all, Agata loved spending time with her family. Every occasion needed to be celebrated and she lived to be present for everyone during their best and their hardest times.

She will be deeply missed by the family she cherished so much. Together with her husband, Agata inspired a family of entrepreneurs, artists, performers, healthcare workers, and generations of strong work ethic. She has left this world a better place, and her legacy will live on for generations to come.
