About Us

Brian T. Fitzgerald has been the owner and operator of the Dockray and Thomas Funeral Home for the past 17 years. Mr. Fitzgerald, following in the footsteps of his grandfather, Alexander F. Thomas, Sr. and uncle, Timothy A. E. Thomas, represents the third generation of the Thomas family to serve the Canton Community.

Brian is a graduate of Xaverian Brothers High School, The University of Notre Dame, New England Institute of Mortuary Science and received his Masters in Business Administration from Northeastern University. Over the years, he has been an active member of the Canton community. He is a member and past president of the Canton Lions Club and Knights of Columbus, and he serves on the Board of Trustees for the Bank of Canton. Brian & his wife Kirsten are active members of St. John the Evangelist Church where the have been Eucharistic Ministers, Lectors and previously served as the Directors of the Pre-Cana Program. They are also active at St. John’s Parish School, where Brian serves as the Treasurer of the School Foundation and he and his wife Kirsten are currently serving as the President Family. 

Brian & his wife Kirsten and children Kyle & Carly are residents of Canton.

Thomas Theodore, is a lifelong resident of Canton where he lives with his wife Barbara & their children Kristen & William. He is a graduate of Canton High School and New England Institute of Mortuary Science and has worked as a director at the funeral home for the last 6 years. Tom is a member of the Board of Directors and past president of the Canton Town Club and a member of Wampatuck Country Club in Canton.

Debra Lanciani, and her husband Ken are Stoughton residents and she has worked as an administrative assistant at the funeral home for the past 2 years. Her daughter, Jenna, is a student at St. John’s School where Deb has been active as both a parent and in the administration, serving as the school’s treasurer and on the Home & School Committee for many years
